约书亚山 specializes in the study of modern 中国. Inspired by his experiences living in Ningbo, Zhejiang and Changsha, Hunan during the height of the “Reform and Opening Up” era, Hill’s research focuses on the introduction, 循环, and transformation of political ideas and attitudes in modern 中国. His first book, Voting as a Rite: A 历史 of Elections in Modern 中国, explores how Chinese leaders and thinkers in the 19^th 和20^th centuries conceptualized the meaning of elections and understood the purpose of voting.
