Master's in 教育al Research and Evaluation

Program Code: ME6277

教育al Research graduate 学生 and 教师

The Master's program in 教育al Research and Evaluation (EDRE) is intended to prepare graduates for a more advanced study of 定量

methods and for roles in research organizations. This major is intended to allow students the flexibility necessary to develop programs that meet their individual needs and interests.

The program of study should be developed in consultation with the student’s advisor and filed with the College before the completion of 20 credit hours. ALL Master’s students are required to take EDRE 5010 Introduction to Research Methods early in the program and a Culminating Project/Seminar Paper or Thesis for 4 credits. In addition to EDRE 5010 and the Culminating Project, students typically are expected to take qualitative, 定量, 心理测验学, 混合的方法, and evaluation courses, but ultimately should develop a program designed to meet their individual goals.

A minimum of 30 semester credit hours of courses (i.e., not including culminating project credits) beyond the Bachelor’s Degree is expected for the Master’s in 教育al Research and Evaluation. At least two scholarly tool courses are required. These courses are usually advanced methodological courses necessary to fulfill the requirements of a seminar paper/thesis. 学生, working with their advisors, are able to develop elective areas of specialization outside 教育al Research. The elective ara should be related to the student's professional or academic goals. Typically, at least 2 courses are expected in an elective area. The Elective Area should not be as large as the Program Expectations area.
