As an educator and researcher, Dr. Nic坎贝尔 supports the study and development of socially and environmentally conscious design methods that enhance the health and well-being of inhabitants. With an eye towards integrating service-learning opportunities, Campbell teaches interior design studio courses, environment and behavior studies, gerontological design, materials and finishes, 可持续设计, and other undergraduate as well as graduate level courses.

Dr. Campbell’s education and professional work experience is in interior architecture. From this vantage point, 坎贝尔的研究 examines design and building that optimizes health and wellness, with a particular emphasis on elderly inhabitants and supporting social interaction through the built environment. Working with partner organizations needing solutions to design problems, 坎贝尔的研究, used to inform optimal design solutions, has been published in numerous academic journals including:
