医学商业’s purpose is to educate future physicians on the business aspects of healthcare management and to provide opportunities for HCOM students to pitch innovative ideas and manage their own finances as they progress in their training.

 医学商业’s purpose is to educate future physicians on the business aspects of healthcare management and to provide opportunities for HCOM students to pitch innovative ideas and manage their own finances as they progress in their training. BiM holds many physician-led talks. Here, HCOM students have the unique opportunity to learn more about business-related topics. Some of these include: working at a private practice vs. 学术中心, 发展中国家的领导, business and medical ethics, 个人财务状况, 还有健康保险. These talks are meant to expose students to concepts they might not get in their traditional education. As physicians, our number one priority will be to heal and care for patients. 然而, we cannot deny the fact that medicine is a business and we will be in the middle of it during our practice. We aim to help the students at HCOM become well-rounded physicians that are financially literate for their own personal benefit and knowledgeable in financial barriers patients might encounter. 整体, BiM strives to give HCOM students opportunities to learn about working within or for a business, whether it is private or public, 盈利与否, 大或小, 医学院期间, allowing them to better understand the business landscape of medicine before entering residency.
