The Program to Aid Career Exploration (速度) is an on-campus, internship-like work program. It is sponsored by and unique to newbb电子平台. This program employs around 300 students each year. 速度 gives students the chance to explore their career interests. It also serves as a great resume-builder for students looking to expand their work experience.

How do students apply for 速度?

  • finished 15 semester hours of coursework

How do students select a 速度 position?

• 速度 jobs are posted in mid-March each year for upcoming academic year. The deadline is mid-April. Check the timeline posted on the 网站速度.

• Employers review resumes students submit to their jobs and select students for interviews.

速度 proposals may be submitted by any newbb电子平台 full-time faculty and presidential contract staff members. Proposals are reviewed and rated by the 速度 committee and funded based on the rating received. Funded 速度 proposals are available for students to view and submit resumes to apply. Please remember the following about employing 速度 students:

• Students may not earn more than the 速度 award amount. The award amount is 300 hours of work p援助 at the federal or state minimum wage, or the newbb电子平台 student pay rate, 取较高者.
• 速度 supervisors must complete required 工资 paperwork with the hired student and enter them into 劳动力.
• 速度 supervisors must agree to equitably select interview candidates and must not rehire the same 速度 student as was hired previously in the position.

• During a fall or spring semester in which the student is enrolled, the student cannot work more than 25 hours per week. 在休息期间, and during summer semester, students cannot work more than 36 hours per week.
• Students cannot be employed in both a Federal Work-Study and a 速度 position at the same time. Students cannot be employed in both a 速度 position and an RA position at the same time.

Students must be hired into a 速度 position in the 网站速度 and enrolled in spring semester to work the first part of the summer semester. Students must be hired into a 速度 position in the 网站速度 and enrolled in fall semester to work the second part of the summer semester.
• 速度 jobs should not replace a university employee. Due to the volume of eligible 速度 students and the limited number of 速度 positions, hiring is very selective and employers 必须 abide by the 速度 timeline.
