研究生 Student Senate

  • GSS Travel grant—The Travel Grant supports travel to present original work as well as travel to various professional development workshops and seminars. A lottery drawing of received grant applications determines the recipients.
  • GSS Original Work grant—The Grant for Original Work supports original graduate student research and creative activities in the arts, 科学, 和人文. A trained, interdisciplinary committee of graduate students reviews applications each quarter.

Biological Sciences Department Professional Conference Travel Stipend

The department (funds permitting) will reimburse presenting graduate students for up to $500 for travel expenses to professional meetings. The awards are limited to one per fiscal year and do not cover per diem expenses.

External Funding

National Science Foundation (NSF)

  • 研究生 研究 Fellowship Program (GRFP) —The 研究生 研究 Fellowship provides three years of support for graduate study leading to research-based master's or doctoral degrees and is intended for students who are at the early stages of their graduate study. The 研究生 研究 Fellowship Program invests in graduate education for a cadre of diverse individuals who demonstrate their potential to successfully complete graduate degree programs in disciplines relevant to the mission of the National Science Foundation.   • Doctoral 论文 Improvement Grants (DDIG) —The National Science Foundation awards Doctoral 论文 Improvement Grants in selected areas of the biological 科学. These grants provide partial support of doctoral dissertation research to improve the overall quality of research. Allowed are costs for doctoral candidates to conduct research in specialized facilities or field settings away from the home campus, to participate in scientific meetings, and to provide opportunities for greater diversity in collecting and creativity in analyzing data than would otherwise be possible using only locally available resources. National Institute of Health (NIH)
