Statehouse 新闻 Bureau Fellowship
The Statehouse 新闻 Bureau Fellowship is a one-semester internship opportunity for student journalists to report on the state government from Columbus, 俄亥俄州. Fellows’ reporting may be published by any news organization, inside or outside 俄亥俄州, provided reports include a credit line that includes the E.W. Scripps School of 新闻’s name. Undergraduates from other colleges and universities if selected for the program may also register for the course as visiting 俄亥俄州 University students. The course’s instructor is Thomas Suddes, Ph.D., an adjunct assistant professor who has more than 30 years of experience reporting or commenting on 俄亥俄州’s government, budget and politics.

The controversial “Heartbeat Bill” was approved by the Senate 18-13, shortly after the House passed it 56-39. While 俄亥俄州 has reached this stage twice before, the measure was vetoed both times by Gov.
